Draft Day Party + Rex Ryan's New Book Giveaway

Hey Jets Fans,
 
It's been a long time not hearing from me, huh? Sorry about that!  Well, I did try twice before to send an email out to say thanks for the great year and each time, as I got close to the end, my PC blew up on me and I lost everything I had written up to then.  This time I'm doing things a bit different so as not to lose anything if it should happen again. 
 
DRAFT DAY GET-TOGETHER
The first thing I want to be sure to do is invite you all out to our annual Draft Day party on Thursday April 28th starting at 7:30pm at Peabody's.  I know it's a bit last minute but it should still be fun seeing everyone for a little while and catching up. 
 
For the draft, we will be in the Main Peabody's area over at the Beta-Bar near the dart-boards.  Simply walk into P's, head straight back and turn right when you get to the wall.  We will be at the bar to your left.  For those that have been in the Fan Club for several years, this is the old location. 
 
The Jets currently have the 30th pick overall but perhaps we'll be able to move up a bit.  Let me know if you plan on attending please.
 
REX RYAN BOOK RAFFLE
During the draft we will be giving away three copies of the brand new book written by our favorite head coach Rex Ryan.  It's called "Play Like You Mean It" and I have been given three books to give away by Rex's publisher. 
 
As the book does not come out until May 2nd, I thought the Draft Day party would be a great way to get it out to a lucky few.  But the only way to get it is to come on out for the Draft Party.  Please let me know if you are coming so I can let management know what to expect.
 
2011 JETS TEAM SCHEDULE IS OUT
Well... the schedule is out for our Jets for 2011 and it looks tough but certainly manageable and should be exciting.  You can check it out yourself here http://www.newyorkjets.com/schedule/season-schedule.html. 
 
One of the cool things is the Jets play Miami in Miami on NEW YEARS DAY!!!  Sounds like a fun party / road trip in the making.  We'll talk more about it during the season.  Also interesting is that we play our first game at home on Sunday Night on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 against the Cowboys.  In addition to this prime-time game we also have 4 other prime time games and a New Years Eve Day game at 1pm against the Giants.  Should be a fun year folks.
 
FAN CLUB GOES SMOKE FREE
Well folks.. it's official.  Based on the overwhelming feedback we got shortly after the end of last season, the room where the Fan Club watches our boys in green will be COMPLETELY SMOKE FREE!!!  Over 70% of respondents (including the smokers) agreed to make this change. 
 
The main Peabody's bar will still allow smoking and you can always step outside for a smoke if you gotta get your fix. But... the main room will be a Smoke Free environment.  This change will begin to bring in a lot more people and families and I know for a fact many people could not or would not come out to P's due to the denseness of the smoke during a game.  Sorry if this is a problem for some of you smokers but this move is for the greater good and I appreciate everyone's feedback.
