Please Read: Did 9/11 claim a loved one?
Published: Thu, 09/08/11
Hey Jets Fans,
While Sunday September 11th, 2011 is the beginning of what is shaping up to be another exciting and fun season for our New York Jets, WE MUST NEVER FORGET the tragedy that occurred on that day 10 years ago.
I was working in Manhattan that fateful day and had to evacuate my offices in Rockefeller Center and spend the night in the city at a friends house due to the horrific attacks on the twin towers.
However, I also consider myself very lucky that day! Although several of my friends worked at the World Trade Center, they all got out safe and thankfully, no one close to me or my immediate family perished when the towers collapsed.
The same can not be said for some of you.
This Sunday, the directors of the New York Jets Fan Club of Tampa Bay would like to remember the friends, relatives and other loved ones that lost their lives on 9/11. If you wouldn't mind sharing with us the name of the person who perished that day and their relationship to you, we would like to honor them during the game. Just click here to send us the details.
Our motto since the
beginning has always been "If You're a Jets Fan, You're Family!" and on
this night of remembrance, we choose to honor those folks in our Jets
Family that are no longer with us. We also intend to set up a special page on our website dedicated to those men and women and the people they left behind.
All our very best!
You New York Jets Fan Club Directors
